Child protection policy

POW Child Protection Policy

Performers of Wivenhoe Youth Theatre Group (POW) adhere to this Child Protection Policy to ensure the security, safety and well-being of its students and staff.

POW undertakes Disclosure And Barring Service (DBS) checks and obtains references on all new teachers and volunteers. 

​

POW operates a no-tolerance policy in response to physical or verbal abuse of any kind. Any such behaviour will lead to expulsion from the Theatre group 

​

INSURANCE AND PUBLIC LIABILITY 

Performers Of Wivenhoe holds full public liability insurance and all teachers are covered under this insurance. 

​

DATA PROTECTION 

Performers Of Wivenhoe conforms to the 1998 Data Protection Act. 

​

PHOTOGRAPHS VIDEOS & DVD'S 

Performers of Wivenhoe teachers and/or approved representatives may, for prosperity, marketing, advertising and record-keeping purposes have occasion to store digital photographs, videos or DVD's of children and teenagers taken during classes and/or stage performances. 

​

These digital images will only be used in the publication of printed marketing material, website and promotional items pertaining to the activities of POW. 

​

The copyright of all images shall be retained by POW. 

Parents, guardians and carers’ permission for consent for the use of any digital images will be sought upon enrolment to POW. 

​

If they do not agree to the use of images of their children/teenagers being as described above, the parent, guardian or carer should make this known in verbal and written form. 

​

POW will take all reasonable steps to ensure no images are used where parents, guardians or carers have expressly requested against their use. Every teacher and authorised representative of POW must subscribe to this policy at all times.
